Mike Harrison named 2012 Midwest Speed Driver of the Year!
If roses grow in heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for
me place them in Moms arms, and tell her they are
from me.
Tell her I love her and I miss her and when she turns
to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hug her for
a while because remembering her is easy, I do it
every day but theres an ache within my heart,
because I am missing her today!
This award is designated in the memory of my
mother whom I lost in 2007 to a battle with lung
cancer. My mother was a winner and expected the
best from everyone and today we honor one of the
best from the 2011 season.
Not many have the opportunity to say they have
been a champion, yet we all know that in our own
way we are each champions in our own right.
Its always tough to decide a winner for this award,
the candidates are many, Brandon Sheppard had a
break out season claiming the NALMS
Championship, Ryan Unzicker certainly had the best year of his career, Mike Harrison had a stellar year claiming the inaugural Summit Modified Summer Nationals title, Shannon Babb winning his 3rd
strongman title by claiming yet another Hell Tour
crown as well as many other worthy individuals.
Please join me, my family, Dave Poske Performance
Parts and Wick Oil, the prersenting sponsors of the Driver of the Year award in welcoming this years
winner who joins a list of names which includes
Dennis Erb, Jeff Leka, Justin Allgaier, Jason Feger and Jeff Herzog and will be etched into our records
as the winner of this years award.
He won not his first, not his second, but his third
overall and second consecutive NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, with 20 plus A-main victories in addition to the previously mentioned UMP Modified Summer National tour presented by Summit Racing Equipment…… my friends I present to you Mike Harrison, this years Midwest Speed Driver of the Year in Memory of Cindy Young.
